Four hand-made boxes (4" to 8" wide each) contain painted specimens of dried desert plants collected in the Tumacacori Wilderness. The pieces recall relics -- bones preserved and presented for reflection. The title points not only to the tradition of Memento mori -- that life is fleeting, but also reminds us that life, in the form of the beautiful Wilderness is out there waiting to be explored.
